The SSC GD Constable Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2025 is essential for candidates preparing for the SSC GD Syllabus upcoming General Duty (GD) Constable recruitment examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Understanding the syllabus and exam pattern thoroughly will help aspirants create a strategic preparation plan. The SSC GD selection process consists of four major stages: Computer-Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), and Medical Examination.

The first stage, the CBE, is an online test comprising four sections – General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi. Each section carries 25 questions of 1 mark each, making a total of 100 questions and 100 marks. The exam duration is 90 minutes, and there is no sectional timing. Negative marking of 0.25 marks is applicable for each wrong answer.

In the General Intelligence & Reasoning section, topics include analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision-making, visual memory, and discrimination, among others. This section tests the candidate’s ability to think logically and solve reasoning-based problems efficiently. The General Knowledge and General Awareness section assesses a candidate's awareness of current events and general facts related to India and the world. Key topics include history, culture, geography, Indian polity, economics, scientific research, sports, and static GK. Regular newspaper reading and current affairs updates are crucial for this section.

The Elementary Mathematics section is designed to test the candidate’s basic mathematical skills, including number systems, computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions, relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetic operations, percentages, ratios and proportions, averages, interest, profit and loss, time and distance, time and work, and mensuration. Basic practice and conceptual clarity are important for scoring well in this section. The English/Hindi section evaluates the candidate’s grasp of basic language skills such as grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, sentence structure, and reading comprehension. Candidates can choose between English and Hindi as per their preference.

After qualifying the written exam, candidates proceed to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), where male candidates must complete a 5 km run in 24 minutes, and female candidates must complete 1.6 km in 8½ minutes. For candidates of Ladakh region, the criteria differ slightly. The Physical Standard Test (PST) measures the height, chest (for males), and weight standards according to category and region.

Finally, those who pass the PET and PST must undergo a detailed medical examination and document verification. The medical test checks overall fitness, vision standards, and other health parameters essential for the job role.

A thorough understanding of the syllabus, regular practice with mock tests, and physical training are the keys to success in the SSC GD Constable 2025 exam.
